Werner Hartmann retires after a decade of leadership at Heinzel Pöls
The idea of installing a new paper machine in Pöls was discussed for a long time. It was only under Werner Hartmann that this project took shape. In 2011, he took on the responsibility of developing a concept for the new paper machine. The PM2 was put into operation in 2013 - the beginning of a new era for the site. The second modern paper machine, the PM3, followed in 2019 and established Pöls as one of the world's leading production sites for kraft paper.
In 2011, Werner Hartmann also took over the management of the Starkraft business unit and continued to drive the company's success. In 2021, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) and was responsible for the Heinzel Pöls agenda together with Ingrid Gruber. Under his leadership, not only was the expansion of the site in Pöls driven forward - the latest investment here was in a new pulp product with the launch of unbleached pulp – but also the rebuild and commissioning of a third paper machine, the PM6 in Steyrermühl/Upper Austria.
During his time at Heinzel Pöls, Werner Hartmann made many groundbreaking decisions and set the course for the company's continued success. Even after his retirement, he will continue to support the company and the Heinzel Group in an advisory capacity in order to continue the successful course that has been set. As the new CEO and CFO, Mike Resnicek has taken over the Executive Board responsibilities from Werner Hartmann, while Maximilian Ortner is taking over responsibility for Sales & Business/Product Development as Business Unit Director.
We would like to thank Werner Hartmann for his outstanding contribution and wish him all the best for the future!
