Optimization Fiberizer

During the production of pulp, branches and larger wood chips are converted into pulp in a cooking process, producing what is known as reject. These oversized pieces of material are subsequently crushed mechanically using a refiner, which consumes a great deal of energy, and returned to the production process. The installation of a pre-crusher (fiberizer) allows the reject to be standardized in terms of size.

Energy Savings

This leads to a significant reduction in electricity consumption and thus to electricity savings of 765 MWh per year. This plant optimization can prevent around 210 tons of climate-relevant CO2 emissions annually.

Optimization MC-Pump 04.403

The MC pump 04.403 (MC = medium consistency) conveys pulp suspension from a storage tank (standpipe) to the next washing stage (washing press). By installing an efficiency-optimized pump in combination with a new speed-controlled motor with lower speed, motor power can be reduced by 15%.

Energy Savings

With approximately 8,500 operating hours per year, this corresponds to annual savings of 680 MWh of electricity. This plant optimization can prevent around 190 tons of climate-relevant CO2 emissions per year.
